A devastating incident occurred on July 13, 2024, in east Delhi's Yamuna Vihar when Poonam, 34, was electrocuted by a live wire protruding from a pole on a flooded street. She was on her way to a diagnostic center for her son Arnav.
Her son, 14-year-old Arnav, who suffered from Down syndrome and was heavily dependent on his mother for care, experienced a severe decline after her death. He developed seizures and depression, requiring ICU admission.
Tragically, Arnav passed away just 23 days after his mother, unable to cope with the loss. His father, Ravinder, is pursuing legal action for negligence, with the next court hearing scheduled for March 6.
