- Bystanders, commuters, and autorickshaw drivers aided in the rescue.

In the early hours of Wednesday, constables Rohit Dahiya and Mohit Deswal were returning from patrol when they encountered a horrific accident. A speeding bus suddenly overturned, trapping passengers inside. The constables, along with a large group of bystanders, commuters, and autorickshaw drivers, quickly organized a rescue effort.
With the bus too heavy to lift manually, Constable Rohit Dahiya ingeniously sourced a passing JCB machine. The JCB was used to carefully lift and stabilize the overturned bus, allowing trapped and injured passengers to be safely extricated. Firefighters also had to cut open an emergency exit to ensure no one was still inside.
The swift response and collaboration between the police and the public were instrumental in the rescue. Approximately 50 personnel from three police stations arrived promptly, with sub-inspector Ran Singh and home guard Paramjeet Yadav immediately transporting victims to a nearby hospital. Officials stressed that the timely intervention and cooperation of the crowd significantly reduced potential casualties.
