Summary

- Misleading posts claimed airport operations were disrupted by flooding.
- Temporary water accumulation cleared within 20 minutes by airport teams.

Delhi International Airport Ltd. (DIAL) has initiated legal action by filing a First Information Report (FIR) with the Delhi Police. The complaint targets 63 social media handles accused of disseminating misleading posts and videos. These online contents falsely alleged that flooding had disrupted operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
DIAL clarified that while temporary water accumulation occurred at the Terminal 3 arrival forecourt on September 4 following heavy rainfall, it was promptly managed. Airport teams successfully cleared the water within approximately 20 minutes. Operations, including flights, continued without any disruption during this period.
The airport operator believes the circulation of such content was a deliberate attempt to cause public concern and damage the reputation of a vital public utility. Passengers are advised to rely on DIAL's official channels for accurate updates.
