₹16 Crore Bridge Crumbles After First Rain

A ₹16-crore bridge in Dehradun has faced severe criticism after a large crater appeared near it following the first heavy monsoon rains on the night of July 27, 2026. Videos of the damaged approach road to the Nanda Ki Chowki bridge quickly went viral, sparking outrage online and accusations of corruption and poor construction quality.

District authorities have clarified that the bridge structure is intact, and only the approach road eroded due to heavy rainfall.
