Motorcycle Accident on Pune-Nashik Highway Kills One, Injures Another

On the evening of October 17th, 2025, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred on the Pune-Nashik highway around 9:30 pm. According to the Chakan police, a 26-year-old truck driver from the Chakan area rammed into the motorcycle carrying Maruti Nagnath Shinde (31) and Sagar Patil, resulting in Shinde's death and Patil's injuries.

The truck driver's rash and negligent driving caused the initial collision, which then led to the truck hitting two cars and a scooter rider. Sadly, Shinde, a resident of Khandapur in Latur, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Patil, the other biker, suffered injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The police have booked the truck driver for causing death by negligence, a grim reminder of the importance of safe and responsible driving on India's roads. This tragic incident has left the local community in shock and highlights the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and improved road safety measures to prevent such devastating accidents in the future.
