A fatal collision occurred on New Year's Eve afternoon in Danville, New Hampshire, claiming the lives of two individuals. The incident happened around 4:47 p.m. on Main Street when a Dodge Challenger, driven by 41-year-old Derek Cote, reportedly crossed into oncoming traffic.
The Challenger collided with a Nissan Altima carrying 65-year-old Brian Morris and 36-year-old Brian Morris Jr. Both occupants of the Altima were trapped and pronounced deceased at the scene despite life-saving efforts by emergency responders. Cote, the driver of the Challenger, was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Troopers determined Cote exhibited signs of impairment and subsequently charged him with two felony counts of negligent homicide and felony aggravated driving under the influence of drugs. He was held for arraignment on January 2nd. The road remained closed for five hours for investigation, and authorities are seeking information.
