Dallas College's downtown El Centro campus experienced a lockdown late Tuesday morning due to a suspicious package found in a vehicle. The alert was issued around 11:30 a.m., restricting movement in and out of the buildings.
Dallas police, along with a bomb disposal team, responded to the 900 block of Pacific Avenue. Officers examined a cooler inside the vehicle. The situation concluded by 1:40 p.m. when police secured the vehicle and determined there was no threat.
One individual was arrested and charged with obstructing the road. Following the clearance, the campus lockdown was lifted. Significant traffic delays and disruptions to DART bus and train services in downtown Dallas occurred but have since returned to normal.
