A California vacation turned terrifying for an Idaho father who was twice bitten by a rattlesnake in his parents' garden. The incident occurred while he was tending to a leaking pipeline.
Chris Howarth required immediate and intensive medical care after the venom entered his bloodstream, causing severe symptoms. He spent 12 days in intensive care units across two hospitals.
Medical professionals administered a large quantity of anti-venom, along with platelet and plasma transfusions, and other life-saving techniques. At one point, he prepared final letters for his children, fearing the worst.
Following his release, Chris returned to his home in Meridian, Idaho, to continue his recovery. A crowdfunding campaign has been established to help his family manage the significant medical expenses and lost income during his extended recuperation.
