Udder Chaos: Cows Escape Trailer on I-90

Three cows caused significant traffic disruption on the New York State Thruway on Monday after escaping from a livestock trailer. The incident occurred near Exit 56 in Blasdell, close to Buffalo, when the trailer experienced a mechanical issue and was parked on the shoulder of Interstate 90. The escaped bovines ventured onto the highway, moving between the roadway and median, leading to a standstill in traffic. Authorities, along with the owners and onlookers, engaged in a pursuit to safely retrieve the animals.

While two of the cows were apprehended relatively swiftly, the third required additional effort from its owners to be secured. Although the cows were safely removed from the scene, the New York State Thruway Authority reported that traffic delays continued for some time following the event. The incident highlighted an unusual disruption to daily commutes.
