In a tragic incident in Chhattisgarh's Janjgir-Champa district, a couple reportedly died by suicide on Monday. Krishna Patel, 48, and his wife Ramabai Patel, 47, were found hanging from a tree in their home's courtyard in Dhardei village. The couple's profound grief over the death of their 21-year-old son, Aditya Patel, in a road accident in 2024, is cited as the reason for their devastating decision.
Neighbors alerted the police after discovering the bodies. Investigators recovered a four-page suicide note and a video message left by the couple. In these recordings, they stated they were taking their lives willingly and of their own consciousness. They requested their relatives to bid them farewell cheerfully and not to blame anyone. The note described their son as the 'foundation' of their lives, expressing an inability to live without him. The video also included a request to a lawyer concerning any pending claims or compensation related to their son's fatal accident, asking for it to be transferred to his elder brothers. Police have registered a case and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. Initial findings suggest no external involvement, but all investigative avenues are being pursued.
