Man Hospitalized Following Lorry-Car Crash on A38

Emergency services responded to a serious collision involving a car and a lorry on the eastbound A38 in Cornwall. The incident occurred around 15:50 GMT on March 26, 2026, near the entrance to the Saltash Tunnel.
One man was treated by paramedics at the scene and subsequently transported by ambulance to Derriford Hospital. The nature and severity of his injuries remain undisclosed.
Following the crash, the eastbound carriageway of the A38 was closed at Carkeel Roundabout. Authorities anticipate that this closure will persist for an extended duration, resulting in significant traffic delays for commuters.
Initially, the Cornwall-bound carriageway was also temporarily shut to allow for the landing of the air ambulance, which has since been stood down. National Highways has warned of considerable disruptions.
