Global humanitarian organization CORE, co-founded by Sean Penn and Ann Lee, has dedicated 16 years to aiding recovery efforts worldwide. Since its inception following the 2010 Haiti earthquake, CORE has positively impacted the lives of over 14.9 million individuals across the globe. Currently, the non-profit is actively providing support to communities in Venezuela affected by recent earthquakes, as well as continuing assistance for Los Angeles following the 2025 wildfires. Their extensive reach also includes ongoing aid in Georgia, North Carolina, Hawaii, Jamaica, Syria, and Sudan.
CORE recently launched its Afterglow live music series with a benefit event in Hollywood, hosted by Garcelle Beauvais and featuring a performance by the band Foreigner. This initiative aims to galvanize community support for disaster recovery. CORE CEO Ann Lee emphasized that "lasting recovery is only possible when we come together as a community," expressing gratitude for the event's attendees and the momentum it generated. The Afterglow series is set to continue in Miami in December, coinciding with Miami Art Basel.
