Worker Falls to Death at High-Rise Construction Site

Tragedy struck at the AB Parking tower construction site in Bhakti Park, Wadala, when a laborer, Abdul Karim Jabbar, died following a fall from the 20th floor. Jabbar was working with colleagues on welding tasks when his foot became trapped in a grill. While attempting to free himself, he lost his balance and plunged to his death.
Co-workers immediately descended to find Jabbar with severe head injuries. He was rushed to Sion Hospital but was unfortunately declared dead on arrival. The incident has raised serious concerns about site safety protocols.
Authorities have registered a case against the site supervisor, security officer, and contractor under the section for causing death by negligence. The police noted that although safety equipment was distributed, a proper safety net to prevent such falls was reportedly not in place.
