Climber Rescued After Fall at Monument

A climber sustained non-life-threatening injuries following a fall on Friday afternoon at the Colorado National Monument. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. at Mosaic Tower, a popular climbing spot near the Grand Junction entrance.
The individual reportedly fell approximately 15 feet. A National Park Service member initially made contact with the climber, who stated they could continue walking out of the canyon.
A rescue team, comprising members from Mesa County Search and Rescue and Grand Junction Fire Department medics, met the climber. While a rope system was prepared in case of a decline in the climber's condition, it was ultimately not needed.
The climber was evaluated by medics for mild discomfort. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
