Fatal Crash Claims Life, Injures Three in Clayton

A devastating traffic accident on Friday afternoon in Clayton led to the tragic death of a 79-year-old woman and serious injuries for three others. The collision took place just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Westbrook and Hoke roads.
Authorities report that a Hyundai Elantra, driven southbound on Hoke Road by John Huston, 83, of Trotwood, failed to yield. The Elantra was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound on Westbrook Road, driven by Cody Ritter, 39, of Greenville.
Joya Hill, 79, a passenger in the Hyundai, was rushed to Miami Valley Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Huston, the driver of the Hyundai, is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries at Miami Valley Hospital.
Ritter and his passenger were taken to Miami Valley North for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is actively investigating the crash.
