A devastating fire on Christmas night has left a Carroll County family facing a grim holiday season after their newly constructed dream home was completely destroyed. The family was only out for 30 minutes viewing Christmas lights when they received the devastating news.
Firefighters from Carroll County Fire Rescue responded promptly to the incident on Paynes Lake Road. During the rescue operations, two family dogs were found trapped inside the burning structure. Brave firefighters managed to rescue and revive the unconscious pets, who are now recovering.
While the official cause of the fire is under investigation, an investigator reportedly suggested a possible exploding lithium battery as the source. The blaze not only consumed the family's residence but also their home bakery business, 'Sweet Tooth Creations by Stephanie,' which had operated for 10 years. The family plans to rebuild and expressed gratitude for being together.
