A group of police officers in northwestern China has been lauded for their exceptional service after recovering a tourist's lost mobile phone using only their bare hands. The incident occurred on May 15 at approximately 11 pm at the well-known Singing Sand Dunes tourist site in Dunhuang, Gansu province.
A tourist, identified as Ms. Tsao from Taiwan, realized her phone was missing amidst the dark and cold conditions of the famous dunes, a site known for its unique humming sounds and proximity to the Crescent Moon Spring.
Despite the challenging search conditions posed by soft, shifting sand and strong winds, the officers responded with remarkable speed, arriving at the scene within four minutes. One officer, Shang Yingjun, felt a phone strap and successfully retrieved the lost device.
These dedicated officers often navigate difficult terrain, covering extensive distances daily to assist visitors. This year alone, they have already recovered 260 lost items, highlighting their commitment to public service.
