A devastating road accident in Imliyakhera village has claimed the life of an 8-year-old boy, Arjun, who was hit by a car driven by a woman teacher. The incident occurred Friday evening while the child was near a roadside community feast. Eyewitnesses reported the car struck the boy with significant force, dragging him nearly 30 meters.
Locals, angered by the incident, surrounded the vehicle and detained the driver, identified as Renu, along with two other women teachers for about 30 minutes. Police arrived, pacified the crowd, and took the teachers for questioning. The car involved has been impounded.
The three women reportedly teach at a school in Raebareli and were returning from work. Arjun, the youngest of three siblings, was fatally injured, suffering severe head trauma and broken ribs. His family, who are daily wage laborers, is inconsolable and demanding swift justice.
The boy's body was sent for a post-mortem examination. Authorities have stated that further legal action will be taken following a formal complaint from the victim's family, and an investigation into the accident's circumstances is ongoing.
