A 5-year-old child has tragically died after drowning in an Airbnb swimming pool in Davenport on Monday. The incident occurred just after 1:00 pm on Takeaway Way. Upon arrival, deputies immediately initiated life-saving efforts, administering CPR to the unconscious child.
Fire rescue personnel took over life-saving measures when they arrived. The child, a resident of Brevard County, had been in the pool with other children while visiting extended family members in the area. Despite efforts at Celebration Hospital, the child was pronounced deceased.
Homicide detectives have since responded to the scene to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the drowning. The Osceola County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation into this heartbreaking incident.
