The owner committed to addressing these security lapses. A fire code appeal, approved in late July, stipulated the building remain empty and secure, and a new demolition permit be obtained.

Meanwhile, the adjacent Fields Park is slated to open, though neighbors express skepticism due to ongoing fencing and marked danger zones.
