Families with loved ones interred at Lafayette Cemetery in Grindstone, Fayette County, have expressed outrage due to recent damage caused by maintenance crews. Heavy machinery was reportedly driven over headstones, flags, and decorations, leaving tire tracks and causing damage. Visitors have reported multiple instances of neglect and destruction of memorials over time, including smashed vases and cracked headstones.

Cemetery management has been largely uncooperative, with staff refusing to speak with reporters and a notice stating the cemetery is not responsible for lost or damaged items. Corporate representatives from Everstory Partners, the parent company, acknowledged that heavy equipment is used on the grounds but stated they try to avoid impacts.
