Restaurant Feeds Venezuela Through Generous Donations
3 Jul
Summary
- Restaurant donated all of Thursday's proceeds to aid Venezuela.
- The restaurant owner drove four hours to Miami to deliver aid.
- Carupano Kitchen continues to accept essential donations.

The dining area of Carupano Kitchen recently became a collection point for essential aid destined for Venezuela, following two major earthquakes that struck the nation last month. Owners Diann Cedeno and her daughter Andrea Osorio initiated a community-driven response, dedicating all proceeds from their restaurant on a Thursday to support a GoFundMe campaign for Venezuela. This effort resulted in a significant contribution, with Osorio reporting, "We were able to donate $1,000 just from Thursday sales." Osorio undertook a nearly four-hour journey to Miami to personally deliver the collected donations to the Global Empowerment Mission.
Needed items for the relief effort include crucial supplies such as tents, sleeping bags, and inflatable mattresses, alongside nonperishable food items, baby formula, diapers, and wipes. Carupano Kitchen, located at 515 22nd St. S. within Foodie Labs in St. Petersburg, is continuing its support by accepting donations every Wednesday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Further updates on their aid efforts are available on their Instagram page.
