A woman in her 80s was rescued on Wednesday afternoon after the car she occupied broke through the wall of a shop. The incident took place around 15:30 BST at the Next store located in Apsley Retail Park, Hemel Hempstead.
Hertfordshire Police confirmed that a blue Audi Q4 collided with the building's wall. Firefighters responded to the scene, where it was determined that one person was trapped inside the vehicle. The rescue operation successfully freed the woman from the car.
She was subsequently handed over to the care of the East of England Ambulance Service. The premises, including the Next store, were evacuated following the collision. Authorities have reported that no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
