Canadian Couple Found Dead in Dominican Republic

Christine Sauvé, 55, and Alain Noël, 56, from Québec, Canada, were discovered deceased in their vacation home in the Dominican Republic on December 26th. Their son found them unresponsive in their residence. The couple had arrived in the Dominican Republic on December 14th for a month-long vacation. Christine had experienced dizziness and sought medical attention the day before, while Alain also reported mild dizziness.

Prior to their deaths, the couple had spoken with family in Canada and appeared "exhausted." Christine had a history of high blood pressure and diabetes, and she had wondered if her dizziness was related to these conditions. They also mentioned experiencing a "stomach problem." Despite these symptoms, they did not report feeling acutely ill during their last conversation.

The family is awaiting the results of autopsies, which are expected to provide initial findings later this week, though a final report may take up to four months. Gilles Sauvé Jr., Christine's brother, expressed that speculation about murder or suicide is untrue. He emphasized remembering his sister and Alain for their kindness, noting his commitment to care for their children as he would his own.
