22 Dec
Summary
- Two young daughters died in a pre-Christmas house fire.
- The mother sustained injuries and lost her eyesight.
- A fundraiser aims to support the grieving family's recovery.

A tragic fire ripped through a California home early Saturday, December 20, claiming the lives of two young daughters and devastating their family just days before Christmas. Murrieta Fire & Rescue responded to the blaze on Knight Drive around 4:42 a.m. local time, finding five occupants inside the burning structure.
Tragically, two of the occupants and several household pets perished. The deceased were identified as the daughters of Stacey Hales, who is currently hospitalized and reportedly lost her eyesight. The family's mobile home, vehicles, and belongings were destroyed in the fire, leaving them with nothing.
A fundraiser has been established to support the Hales family, seeking $24,000 for essential needs. The community is rallying to help, with one relative noting this loss comes three years after the family lost another child in a car accident. An investigation into the fire's cause is ongoing.
