Four people were rescued from the Seine River near Paris after a bus, operated by a trainee driver, went off the road and fell into the water. The incident occurred in Juvisy-sur-Orge, a town located southeast of the French capital. The bus driver was in the final stages of her training, and she, along with her supervising driver, tested negative for alcohol and drugs. The vehicle was completely submerged near a bridge, having also struck a parked car which was pulled into the river as well.
A substantial rescue operation was launched, involving multiple boats, a drone, helicopters, and over 30 firefighters, supported by dozens of police officers. Bystanders acted quickly, throwing life rings while awaiting emergency services. The bus was scheduled for recovery from the water. Officials did not immediately release details regarding the condition of those rescued.
