Pothole Peril: Bus Overturns Near Lucknow

A passenger bus travelling from Tambaur to Lucknow met with an accident in Sitapur's Reusa area on Sunday. The driver lost control while attempting to navigate potholes on a severely damaged road, causing the bus to overturn into a nearby field.

Locals quickly responded to the scene near Sonawa village. They provided assistance to the passengers, with four individuals sustaining minor injuries. These passengers received immediate first aid and were permitted to return home, as no serious harm was reported.

The incident has reignited concerns among residents about the persistent poor condition of the Sonawa-Suketha-Sanda road. They report that large potholes have made the road hazardous for an extended period, a situation exacerbated during the monsoon when they become difficult to spot under accumulated rainwater.

Residents have formally appealed to the relevant authorities, emphasizing the urgent need for an inspection and subsequent repairs to prevent future accidents and ensure public safety on this critical route.
