A tragic diving incident off the coast of Gili Air, Indonesia, has claimed the life of 45-year-old Robert Ladd from Hillingdon, northwest London. Ladd entered the water alone on Tuesday morning, attempting to navigate the dangerous "Indonesian Throughflow" rip currents instead of opting for a boat.
When he failed to resurface after approximately an hour, friends and local dive operators initiated a search. Rescue crews located Ladd's body at a depth of around 12 meters. Despite immediate resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead by paramedics.
