Bride's Wedding Prep Derailed by Unexpected Sprinkler Flood

In July 2022, a bride's wedding day in Fishers, Indiana took an unexpected turn when the home where she and her bridal party were getting ready flooded due to a sprinkler mishap. Just one hour into the hair and makeup session, the indoor fire sprinklers suddenly went off and continued for 30 minutes, flooding the room up to the ankles.

The incident was triggered when a hairstylist decided to hang a bridesmaid's dress on the fire sprinkler, causing the glass around the box to break and the sprinklers to activate. While the bride's wedding dress was thankfully unharmed, the charcuterie board and snacks were ruined by the water.

Forced to evacuate the flooded venue, the bride, her bridal party, and the vendors all packed up and relocated to an alternative space seven minutes away. Makeup artist Nicole Flores had to work quickly to complete the bride and four bridesmaids' looks in the cramped, windowless new location. Despite the stressful situation, the bride remained calm and assured Flores to take her time.

Due to the sprinkler incident and the relocation, the wedding ceremony ended up starting about an hour later than originally planned. The owners of the event center were accommodating during the chaos, providing the group with snacks, water, and the alternative space to get ready.
