29 Jun
Summary
- An amphibious vehicle tipped onto its side, injuring 11 passengers.
- The boat had mechanical problems in the water before tipping.
- Boston Duck Tours resumed operations the day after the incident.

A Boston Duck Tours amphibious vehicle tipped onto its side on Saturday, resulting in injuries to 11 passengers. The incident occurred on a ramp near the Museum of Science after the duck boat experienced mechanical issues in the Charles River. It was being towed by another duck boat when the tow rope reportedly snapped.
Boston Duck Tours resumed its operations on Sunday, with passengers returning to the popular tourist attraction. The company is cooperating with an investigation led by the U.S. Coast Guard, which includes assistance from the National Transportation Safety Board.
According to witnesses, the disabled duck boat stalled in the water, prompting the towing operation. The tow rope broke as the boat neared the top of the ramp, causing the tipped vehicle to slide back and overturn. Bystanders and emergency crews responded quickly to assist those aboard.
This incident is not the first involving duck boats, as similar accidents have occurred in Seattle and Missouri in recent years, and Boston Duck Tours has had prior collisions.
