BITS Pilani Student Dies in Tragic Fuel Tanker Collision

A tragic road accident claimed the life of a BITS Pilani student on Saturday evening. Karan Narsimha Murthy, 25, a student at the KK Birla Goa campus, died instantly when the motorcycle he was riding crashed into an empty fuel tanker.
The incident occurred around 6:30 pm near Zuarinagar, Sancoale, on the four-lane highway. Murthy and his friend, Sohan Adhikari, also 25, were returning from the BITS Pilani campus. The collision took place as the fuel tanker was entering a petroleum storage terminus.
Despite wearing a helmet, Murthy sustained fatal injuries. Adhikari, who was the pillion rider, suffered severe injuries and has been transported to Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim. Investigations into the accident are currently underway.
