Beulah Fire Evacuees Get Green Light to Return Home Monday
12 Jul
Summary
- Beulah residents can tentatively return home starting July 13.
- Re-entry follows a specific schedule to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Residents must have a re-entry card obtained from the Disaster Assistance Center.

Beginning Monday, July 13, many Beulah residents evacuated from the Aspen Acres Fire will have the opportunity to return to their homes. This tentative re-entry process will commence at 8 a.m. and is scheduled based on property location to ensure a safe and efficient return. Areas along North Creek Road near the county line will continue to be under evacuation orders.
To facilitate a smooth process, the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office requests residents adhere to the assigned schedules and routes. A re-entry card is mandatory for access and can be obtained daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Disaster Assistance Center. Returning residents are advised to enter via the Colorado Highway 78 traffic control point at 3R Road.
While most evacuations are expected to lift, officials noted that significant firefighting activity and heavy equipment remain in the Highway 165 corridor and surrounding areas. Residents may still observe smoke and hotspots. Emergency personnel are actively working on extinguishing remaining fires, assessing hazards, and repairing infrastructure. Returning residents must remain aware of changing weather conditions, particularly the risk of flash flooding.
Evacuations for Rye residents are still in effect due to ongoing operations. The Sheriff's Office is collaborating with the Alaska Incident Management Team to evaluate conditions and determine safe repopulation timelines. Property owners are being directly notified of any damage, and residents are encouraged to complete the Survivor Information Portal for recovery teams. The priority remains ensuring the safest possible return for all residents.
