Tragic Lake Drowning: Two Students Feared Dead

Two college students are feared to have drowned in the Kabbalu lake, near Kanakapura, in Bengaluru South district. The incident occurred Wednesday evening when the students, identified as Santosh S and B Dhanush, both II PU students at a private college in Banashankari, visited the Kabbalu temple with friends.
Following their temple visit, the group proceeded to the lake. While some members waded in, Santosh and Dhanush went further and tragically slipped into the water. Alerted by the others, authorities were quickly on the scene to initiate search and rescue operations.
As of Thursday afternoon, the body of Santosh S was recovered. However, the search for B Dhanush is still ongoing. Officials noted that the lake is over 20 feet deep and was recently dredged, presenting significant challenges for the recovery efforts.
