A speeding car narrowly missed causing a major tragedy in Bengaluru's Indiranagar on Thursday night, January 8. The vehicle, driven by 42-year-old Derrick Tony, jumped a road divider on 100 Feet Road after travelling at high speed from 18th Main Road. Police suspect the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
The dramatic incident, captured on CCTV, shows the car launching over the divider and crashing into the outer wall of a Barbeque Nation restaurant. A group of diners standing nearby managed to scatter just moments before the impact, narrowly escaping serious injury. The two-wheeler rider in the car's path sustained minor injuries.
While the restaurant suffered extensive damage, no fatalities were reported. A case has been registered with the Jeevan Bheema Nagar Traffic Police Station, and further investigations are ongoing. This incident occurred shortly after a similar event in Jaipur where a speeding car, also reportedly driven by an intoxicated driver, rammed into pedestrians.
