A devastating scooter crash in Bali has left Australian mother Alivia Jane Campbell, 28, in critical condition. The incident occurred on Friday when she was struck by a truck while riding a scooter. She was rushed to a local hospital where she received treatment for severe brain trauma and a broken pelvis.
Campbell's family has initiated an urgent fundraising campaign to support her recovery and bring her back to the central coast of New South Wales once she is stable enough for travel. A close friend highlighted the immense medical costs and the mother's need to return to her two young daughters.
This incident echoes a previous tragedy in Bali earlier this year. Bryce Alexander Black, 33, also from New South Wales, died in a head-on scooter collision with a car. His girlfriend, Samantha Baillie, also from the central coast, was hospitalized in critical condition, suffering a fractured skull, brain bleeding, broken fingers, and injuries to her pelvis and feet.
Funds are also being raised for Ms. Baillie's recovery, with her friend noting the Bali trip was meant to be a happy milestone, which tragically turned into a devastating ordeal.
