Andrew Patterson, a 29-year-old tree surgeon from Northern Ireland, sustained severe, life-altering injuries in a motorbike accident while on holiday in Canggu, Bali. The incident occurred on Sunday evening as he was riding a hired motorbike.
Patterson misjudged a corner, causing him to brake sharply and be thrown over his handlebars. He impacted a road sign, resulting in significant skull and facial trauma, including shattered cheek and eye sockets, and a broken nose. He also broke a vertebra in his neck and a thoracic vertebra in his back.
