Arizona Deputies Save Choking Baby in Dramatic Rescue

Deputies in Arizona successfully rescued a 2-week-old baby boy who was choking on November 10th. The infant's parents initiated a 911 call around 3:30 p.m. while en route to find assistance, as their newborn began experiencing breathing difficulties. Responding deputies located the family's vehicle on a roadway in Yavapai County.

Upon reaching the car, deputies saw the father exiting with the baby, having already attempted infant CPR and back blows for approximately 15 minutes. Bodycam footage shows a deputy immediately taking the infant and commencing life-saving measures. After chest compressions, firm back slaps were administered, successfully clearing the baby's airway and prompting him to cry.

For several minutes, the infant repeatedly went limp, requiring continuous stimulation from the deputy to maintain breathing until emergency medical personnel arrived. The baby was transported to a hospital in Prescott Valley for oxygen treatment and subsequently transferred to Phoenix Children's Hospital. Authorities have confirmed that the baby has since made a full recovery and returned home.
