Cracker Blast Rips Through Kakinada: 18 Dead

A tragic explosion at a cracker manufacturing unit in Vetlakpalem village, Kakinada district, Andhra Pradesh, resulted in the deaths of 18 workers and left six critically injured. The incident occurred on Saturday, sending shockwaves through the local community.

The intensity of the blast was so severe that debris, including bodies, was found scattered in adjacent paddy fields, creating horrific scenes. Emergency services responded swiftly, with ambulances attending to the injured and drones deployed to aid in locating scattered remains.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed profound sadness over the loss of life. He spoke with officials, directing them to provide immediate aid to the victims and their families. Ministers and senior officials were also instructed to visit the accident site to oversee rescue operations and offer support.
