Ambulance Crash Kills Elderly Passenger in Kerala

An elderly man tragically lost his life following an ambulance accident in Idukki, Kerala, early Friday morning. Rajan MK, aged 75, was being transported to a private hospital in Kattappana when the vehicle collided with a roadside wall near Parakkadavu around 5 am.
He had initially been admitted to a hospital in Anakkara due to breathing difficulties. His condition deteriorated, prompting the transfer to Kattappana. Despite efforts, Rajan succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital.
The ambulance driver, Tijo, aged 45, sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. Two other individuals traveling in the ambulance, Jayanthi and Joyal, suffered minor injuries and were released after receiving medical attention.
Preliminary investigations suggest the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the fatal crash. Kattappana police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
