Eight individuals, including a minor girl, lost their lives and nine others sustained injuries in a severe road accident on the Fazilka-Ferozepur highway in Punjab's Ferozepur district. The incident occurred on Saturday morning when a pickup tempo carrying about 20 relatives collided head-on with a trolley traveller.
The group was traveling from Jalalabad to Harike Pattan, approximately 105 km away, to perform a ritual for a deceased family member. The collision happened near Janga Wala Mod, resulting in four deaths at the scene and four more during treatment. Several injured individuals have been referred to a hospital in Faridkot.
