A devastating micro-bus accident in Nepal's Gorkha district has resulted in the deaths of seven Indian pilgrims. The pilgrims were en route back after visiting the Manakamana Temple when their vehicle veered off the road and plummeted into a deep gorge in the Kantar area of Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality.
Authorities reported that seven other pilgrims sustained injuries in the crash and have been admitted to Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur for necessary treatment. Rescue operations were reportedly underway following the incident. The micro-bus was carrying over a dozen passengers and was headed towards the Anbukhaireni area.
The exact cause behind the accident remains undetermined, though preliminary observations suggest the steep road conditions may have been a contributing factor. This incident follows a similar fatal accident in August 2024 involving a bus carrying Indian pilgrims, which claimed at least 27 lives.
