A devastating road accident in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur, claimed the lives of seven people and left 13 others injured. The incident occurred on Tuesday when a passenger van, traveling at high speed, rammed into three other vehicles.
According to initial reports, the van allegedly suffered brake failure. Its first collision was with a motorcycle carrying two individuals. Subsequently, it struck a parked wing van, which was fortunately unoccupied at the time. The final impact was with another motorcycle that had a sidecar.
Victims included five passengers from the van and two individuals on motorcycles, one of whom succumbed to injuries after being hospitalized. The van, which was en route from Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay to Pagadian City, was severely damaged, with debris scattered across the road. Authorities are investigating the incident, and the van's owner is reportedly cooperating.
