A devastating car accident in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, last Friday has left the local community in shock. On October 22nd, 2025, a car carrying five young people crashed into a roadside tree, resulting in the tragic deaths of all the occupants.

The victims have been identified as V Prabhakaran, 19, a TNAU student from Thanjavur district; M Prakash, 22, N Harish, 20, and Sabari, 22, all from Thanjavur district and working at a private vehicle wash and parking facility in Selvapuram; and R Agathiyan, 20, another TNAU student.

The group had decided to celebrate Harish's birthday on the fateful night. Prakash, Harish, and Sabari took a car that belonged to a person from Theni district, who had left the vehicle with the parking facility employees. They picked up Prabhakaran and Agathiyan from their room near Telungupalayam and were driving towards Iruttuppalam on the Siruvani Main Road when the accident occurred.

Prakash, who was behind the wheel, lost control of the car, causing it to ram into a tree. Sabari, Harish, and Prakash died on the spot, while Agathiyan was declared brought dead at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH). Prabhakaran, who was critically injured, succumbed to his injuries the following morning.

The Perur police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
