A 4-year-old girl tragically lost her life on Wednesday evening following a vehicle accident in Apopka. The incident took place around 7:14 p.m. on Robinson Avenue and 13th Street.
A 37-year-old woman was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse when the tragic event unfolded. She was reportedly unaware that the young child was standing next to the right rear passenger door. As the SUV began to move forward, the child fell and was subsequently struck by the vehicle.
Emergency medical services transported the injured child to Arnold Palmer Hospital. Sadly, medical staff later pronounced the girl deceased. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene after the crash. The Florida Highway Patrol is actively investigating the full circumstances of this heartbreaking incident.
