The BMW reportedly struck a median, lost control, and then collided with the Acura. It continued across the roadway, striking a bus stop, a light pole, and a tree before coming to a stop. The three occupants of the BMW, identified as 18-year-old Richard Manuel Alcocer and passengers 16-year-old Miguel Montez and 15-year-old Ruben Baltazar, were pronounced deceased at Broward Health North.
The driver of the Acura sustained no reported injuries and remained at the scene. The close-knit families of the victims expressed their grief, remembering the boys as always being together.
