Tragic incidents unfolded in Mirzapur district when heavy rainfall caused the collapse of two mud houses, leading to the deaths of three elderly residents. Another mud house in Thapanwa village collapsed approximately two hours later, around 1 am. An elderly man and his wife were rescued by villagers, but the wife was pronounced dead at the hospital. Her husband was transferred for further medical attention in serious condition.
The district administration has responded by announcing financial aid of Rs 4 lakh for each affected family through the disaster relief fund.
