Shimla Gorge Tragedy: SUV Plunges 200m, 3 Dead

An SUV plunged into a 200-meter-deep gorge in Shimla's Rampur sub-division on Friday evening, resulting in a tragic loss of life. The vehicle, a Mahindra Bolero Camper, was being driven by Kapil Dev, a milk supplier, when it skidded off the Bahlidhar-Chiksa link road near Shandal Nallah.
Tragically, three individuals were declared dead at the scene: driver Kapil Dev (41) from Chiksa village, Pushpa Devi (67) from Majhali village, and Urmila Devi (40) also from Majhali village. The accident occurred as Dev was returning home.
Two other passengers, Rakesh Kumar (39) and Leela Devi (41), both from Chiksa village, suffered serious injuries. They were rescued by local residents and police, who also recovered the bodies. The injured are currently receiving treatment at Khaneri hospital in Rampur. Rampur police have registered a case regarding the incident.
