A tragic accident in Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, resulted in the deaths of ten soldiers and left eleven others injured. The incident occurred when an Army vehicle skidded off the Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate road and plunged into a deep gorge.
A joint rescue operation by the Army and police was immediately launched following the mishap. While four soldiers were found dead at the scene, eleven others were rescued with injuries. Tragically, six more soldiers succumbed to their injuries later.
The injured soldiers received immediate attention, with some airlifted to a command hospital in Udhampur for specialized treatment. Officials confirmed the fatalities and injuries, prompting expressions of grief and condolences from national leaders, including the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister, who lauded the rescue efforts and extended support to the affected families.
