On August 4, 2025, a tragic incident occurred in Buxar, India, where a 17-year-old kanwariya lost his life due to electrocution. Aman Kumar, a resident of Navanagar, was on a pilgrimage to Baba Brahmeshwar Nath Dham at Brahmapur in Buxar district. After collecting 'Gangajal' from Ramrekha Ghat, Aman was on his way to Brahmapur on foot, as vehicle movement was restricted in the city due to administrative orders.
Tragically, Aman stopped to wash his feet at a hand pump in Koirpurwa locality when he slipped and came into contact with an electric pole, resulting in his electrocution. Other kanwarias present at the scene raised an alarm, and the police were informed. The authorities arrived at the scene, and the electricity department disconnected the power supply. Sadly, Aman was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a separate incident on the same day, a 21-year-old youth named Bittu Sharma drowned in floodwaters at Jawahi Diyar village under Chakki police station. The authorities are investigating both incidents to determine the exact circumstances surrounding these tragic events.
