Jaipur Roads Remain Treacherous Despite CM's Promises
30 Aug
Summary
- Sanganer roads in poor condition despite CM's inspection
- Residents face dust, skidding vehicles, and accidents
- Authorities claim permanent repairs to begin after monsoon

In late July 2025, Jaipur's Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma visited the Sanganer area and instructed the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) to immediately repair the roads around Vande Mataram Circle and Bharat Mata Circle. However, a month later, the situation remains dire for local commuters.
Loose gravel, layers of dust, and potholes make it extremely difficult and dangerous for two-wheeler riders to navigate the roads. Vehicles frequently skid, leading to minor accidents, and residents live in constant fear of a major incident. A local shopkeeper, Vijay Kumar, describes the dust as "unbearable," while college student Priyanka says she worries her scooter might slip every morning due to the poor road conditions.
Officials argue that the patchwork repairs done so far were only temporary measures, and permanent fixes will be taken up once the monsoon season ends. But residents are growing increasingly skeptical, questioning why they must continue risking their lives until then.
Earlier this week, the Chief Minister chaired a review meeting of the Public Works Department, issuing strict warnings against negligence and delays in road and infrastructure projects. He also directed that all damaged stretches be repaired before October 20th. However, Sanganer residents remain doubtful, as they have heard empty assurances before and now simply want safe, reliable roads under their wheels.
